Principal's Message

Dear Meairs Families,

Welcome to a new school year at Meairs Elementary! I hope you and your family had a wonderful summer filled with time to relax, recharge, and make lasting memories. We are excited to welcome both our returning and new Eagle families as we begin another year of learning, growth, and success together.

At Meairs, our focus remains on creating a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment where every student feels valued, heard, and supported. Our school motto—Be Responsible, Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Your Best!—guides our daily actions and reflects our commitment to building strong character, fostering positive relationships, and maintaining high expectations for every learner.

This year, we are excited to continue strengthening our academic programs with an emphasis on high-quality instruction, AVID strategies, and expanded opportunities for career-connected learning. Students will engage in meaningful learning experiences that promote critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving while preparing them for future success. We also remain committed to supporting the whole child through our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework, social-emotional learning, and opportunities that help every student feel connected to our school community.

Building strong partnerships with our families is one of our greatest priorities. We believe that education is most successful when schools and families work together, and we look forward to providing many opportunities for you to be involved throughout the year.

Communication is essential to that partnership. Please stay connected by checking ParentSquare, our weekly newsletter, and our school website for important updates, upcoming events, and school resources. You can also follow our school Instagram pages to celebrate the amazing learning and activities happening across campus. Please be sure your contact information is current in the Aeries Parent Portal so you receive timely notifications.

Our entire Meairs team is here to support your family. In addition to our office staff, our community liaisons are available to provide translation services, connect families with community resources, and assist with any questions you may have.

I encourage you to become involved through PTA, School Site Council (SSC), ELAC, Lunch on the Lawn, family events, and our student recognition ceremonies. Your partnership strengthens our school community and helps create meaningful experiences for all students.
